Capricciosa Pasta & Pizza,Sunway Pyramid
By William at April 3, 2011 | 5:39 pm | 2 Comments
Its been ages since i’ve been to Sunway Pyramid, years in fact. But last week we went to Pyramid to try out this new Italian outlet called Capricciosa and ironically, this outlet is brought all the way from Japan. Interesting fact huh. So at first, we were a bit skeptical, an Italian restaurant brand from Japan? Sure anot. But we were pleasantly surprised First up, we had the Italian Vegetable and Meat soup. The picture does not do this justice. This soup was one of the best I’ve ever had, and i’m serious. It’s rich and thick and is a result of a savoury...
FT: Celestrial Court, Sheraton Kuala Lumpur
By William at April 3, 2011 | 5:34 pm | 1 Comments
We had the opportunity to be invited to Celestrial Court for their Chinese New Year menus which they had in conjunction with Standard Chartered Extravagant 8 promotion. The ambience was lovely and all geared up to usher in the rabbit year. We started with the yee sang and we were pleasantly surprised to see it in a shape of a white rabbit. A very creative way of presenting the yee sang. It is meant to be a little white rabbit on a bed of grass. Next was a Braised Shredded Chicken Soup with Fish Maw which was happily greeted by anti shark fin lovers Next...

How time flies.. one minute it was christmas, then new years and now Chinese New Year. This year as we usher in the year of the rabbit (metal rabbit for that matter) we got the pleasure of sampling one of the eight restaurants of the Standard Chartered Chinese New Year promotion. The restaurant we went to was Zing Chinese Restaurant in Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, and boy were we in for a treat. Of course its is never...
Sisters Char Kway Teow Penang
By Steve at February 21, 2011 | 2:31 pm | 4 Comments
So, I went and tried Sister’s Char Koay Teow in McAlister Road before I left Penang. It it said to be one of the best char koay teow in Penang, with a notorious reputation of being overpriced and arrogant. I even heard that you would be charged for not ordering a drink in the coffee shop. I had to see it for myself to confirm this. Sister’s Char Koay Teow can be found in Lam Heng Cafe, a corner coffee shop at the end of McAlister Road. Besides char koay teow there’s also laksa, mee jawa and their very own otak-otak. So, you are not necessarily...
Duck Thigh Noodles at Pun Chun Restaurant Bidor Perak
By Steve at February 21, 2011 | 8:01 am | 1 Comments
And this is the famous ‘Ngap Pei Meen‘ (duck thigh noodles). Although the noodles look dry, it was actually still quite springy and tasted not bad at all. Each plate costs RM5-6 if I remember correctly lol. As good as the wantan noodles could be, the herbal duck drumstick is the ultimate reason for Ngap Pei Meen’s tastiness. I remembered the first duck thigh noodles I had when I was small, it had a very strong herbal taste – so strong the broth was actually bitter instead. After that experience I never dared to touch any duck thigh noodles...
Sarawak Laksa, Restaurant Megah Good Luck, Taman Megah
By William at November 2, 2010 | 8:00 am | 3 Comments
This has recently been one of my favourite breakfast haunts ever since I found the a stall selling Sarawak laksa here. I’ve always been a huge fan of sarawak laksa, but haven’t always been able to find one here in KL. This hawker stall is usuall packed especially on weekends because they have a wide variety of hawker stalls to choose from. Suggest you go earlier to get a place and also sample the other food there. They are also famous for their siew yuk mee. If you look, every table will have one. But i’m here for my Sarawak Laksa..muahahaha. In a...
Selera Utara,Mee Rebus, Damansara Kim
By Sue Ann at October 26, 2010 | 8:00 am | 1 Comments
This is one of my parent’s favourite place for Mee Rebus. They claim that this is one of the best places around for mee rebus. To be honest, I’m not a huge mee rebus fan, so if they say its good, I thought I should check it out for myself. This mee rebus stall is located in D’sara Kim, in the row of shop stalls just down the road from the Damansara Specialist center. Its the same place where they sell the famous fish head noodles and Jenny Hong Tau fu fa. So we each ordered a mee rebus which came in a plate. And I must admit, its not bad. For those...

Last Friday, we got invited to the 1 week launch of Cinnamon coffee house’s ‘Seoul Good’ Korean cuisine food fiesta. There was lots of hype to the ceremony where they had an Samu Nori (8 piece Korean Percussion performance) for opening performance by the Korean traditional Music association in Malaysia ( we got there late, so missed out on the whole performance :( . This was then followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony by Dato’ Teo Chiang Hong after which we took it as ‘Let the feasting begin’. We first start feasting with our eyes, and the first...
Moorthy’s Mathai Indian Rice, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur
By Sue Ann at October 13, 2010 | 8:00 am | 1 Comments
We heard of this place from one of our family friends, Moorthy’s Indian Rice. This is not your typical indian banana rice place because it is is a chinese hawker center surrounded by stalls selling, char kway teow, wan tan mee, curry mee and then there’s Moorty’s Inidan rice. It has all the varieties of an indian rice stall with the usual sides of fried potatoes, pickled cucumbers, papadam and a wide selection of friend chicken, rendang, fried seafood to choose from. Just let them know that you want a portion of banana leaf rice and then they will...
