A quick lunch the other day brought us to this small cafe in 1 Utama shopping mall called Zuup Soup Bar. As their name suggests, their speciality is soup and lots of it.
Due to the weather in Malaysia, rich, hot creamy soups that are often made Western style are not all that popular. But I personally like Western style soups for their flavour and for a change to the herbal chinese soups I’m so used to drinking, as for the weather, it’s almost always cold in shopping malls, so I was fine…
Sue Ann ordered the set lunch, which came with a small bowl of soup accompanied by a selection of main meals from their menu. She ordered ham and pea soup, similar to the soup from Ribs, just that this one was halal. It was nice and thick and quite rich as well, probably due to the cream or potatos they added to thicken the soup.
Her main meal was a bucket of fish and chips…
For my main meal, I ordered their bread bowl Irish hot pot soup. Which essentially is a medium sized bowl of soup poured into a bowl carved out of bread.
The stew was filled with tender meat and crunchy vegetables, with a very homey taste to the flavours, albeit in quite a small bowl. But after eating the bowl that the soup was served in, you do fill up quite a bit.
Total price for both meals: RM28.30 (including 10% discount off my soup using Sue Ann’s work pass).

It tasted pretty good too… just a bit small. Had to eat the bread to be really full. But a nice healthy lunch replacement none the less.
