We recently got invited to West 57th Street Cafe on one faithful Saturday. We arrived at Parkson Pavillion around noon, our stomachs rumbling prepared for the meal that we were to eat.
West 57th Street Cafe is owned by the brother of world renowned fashion designer Zang Toi who is now currently based in New York busy designing for the likes of Eva Longoria, Ivanka Trump and even Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas.
This cafe tucked in the corner Parkson in the Pavillion just exudes class and simplicity. A delicate and elegant decor, white walls decorated with long hanging mirrors with the burst of bright colours from the beautiful floral arrangements in the cafe courtesy of Connie the designer florist they have on board. I love her work!
We took our seats and were pondering what we should order. In the end, we went for their set menu because it was highly recommended and it had most of their house specialties. Each set comes with drinks, main course and of course dessert.
We were first enticed with Zang’s Fruity Ice Tea Punch, which was one of the drinks from the set menu. This drink really does pack a good punch. Truly refreshing ice lemon tea with bits of lemon and orange peel for that extra tangy flavour together with lime and mint. Awesome. They should bottle this and mass sell this, I’m quite sure it’ll be a sell out. * Hint Hint Mr Toi*.
William had the Hainanese Chicken Chop. It was crispy and the meat was succulent with a savory sweet hainanese sauce to complement the meal. It also came with fries and coleslaw on the side.
I opted for the Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken. It was quite a big portion, the chicken they gave was huge, and didn’t seem to get any smaller no matter how much I ate. I also quite like the sambal, not too spicy for me, just right.
Looking at the club sandwhich and you just know its going to taste so good. The club is a combination of sausage, chicken slices, egg and also their homemade mayonaise sauce topped with nice fresh tomato slices.Yummy.
Drool..drool….dessert. Doesn’t it look gorgeous?!
We had THE house specialty, Chocolate Banana Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with lots of hot chocolate sauce. The cake comes nice and warm as they warm it up before serving it to you. Its like eating it fresh out of the oven. The chocolate is moist and rich…so sinful. LoL.
You can also order it ala carte, I managed to get the prices down below. And I must remind you, they are pretty generous with their portions.
1 Slice RM8
1 Slice + Ice cream RM9.50
1 Loaf – RM 75
1/2 Loaf – RM40
If you are here, this is a definite MUST try.
Click here to view their set menus.
They also offer catering services to the nearby office vicinity with a wide variety of finger food, pastries and desserts at a very reasonable price. So if you are having an office function, and if you are in KL, do give them a shot. You won’t regret, I promise

A generally competent & informative review with nice pixs. Since you have great plans for this site and since we were one of the initial Email interviewees of Feedmelah we are thus giving you our opinion on some of the ways you can improve readership to your site .
1.The ‘keep on reading…” tab is generally a put off to new (lazy)visitors ( unless your site is pretty established with a great no of readers )
2.The “leave a reply” comments table ( wordpress system ) requires too many details ( unlike Blogger )and you shud think whether you can simplify that !Cheers to the future !

Hi guys!
Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it…
I’ve been meaning to touch up the design to make it less messy and cluttered, but haven’t had the time lately.
I’ve got a more simplistic design in mind, but just need to find the time to get it done.
What happened to backstreetgluttons.com? why move over to .info?
Thanks again for the feedback
