Craft Brews Brewhouse & Restaurant, Mutiara Damansara
Recently visited this place in Mutiara Damansara, opposite the petrol station beside court’s mammoth. It had a very chic design, with the interior looking like part of a brewery with pipes sticking out of the wall. Very big and bright as well thanks to the ceiling to wall windows.
We were pleasantly surprised when they treated us with a complimentary cup of tomato soup while waiting for our meals to come. Not often we get served in soup cups in KL, so this was something new.
Our first dish was the craft brew’s pasta which is actually Fettuccini Cabonara topped with loads of bacon bits. And this is pork bacon, which is extra tasty. The sauce was very very rich and creamy with mushrooms.
The other dish that we tried was the Roast Pork Sandwhich. In their menu they have pork I and pork II. I opted for pork I as that is the non spicy sweet pork, while pork II was spicy. Kinda odd that they would label their pork that way but I guess every restaurant has their own way of doing things. The pork given was the 3 layer pork and was done almost like a char siew style, but the sauce was quite sweet. It came on a bed of tomotoes and lettuce and also a side of wedges. The bread used was foccacia bread. Quite enjoyable.
This is a nice place to come and chill with a bunch of friends over lunch or dinner. When we were there, it was relatively quiet for a Sunday afternnon, though I suspect things might be different at night as they also serve many different types of alcohol here. Would come by one night and check it out.
They also have daily set lunch menus from Mon – Friday at RM11.90+ which comes with a complimentary soup, drink and a main. Pretty reasonable I would say.

Pick & Brew, 1 Utama, Bandar Utama
Recently had dinner with the girls again at this new cafe called Pick n Brew. I’ve been eyeing this cafe ever since they first launched. What caught my eye was the ambience they created, very open, comfortable and inviting. With its wooden interiors and comfortable chairs I instantly thought to myself, this will be a good place to have drinks and chat over a cuppa tea.
So we girls decided to try them out to see whether their food tasted as good as their place looked. So after work we all met there for dinner and after much time spent poring over the menu we decided on the orders below.
Bruschetta RM18
Oven Baked Oats and Crusted Almond Snapper RM28
Roast Beef Risotto RM28 (All day set)
Chicken Fricasse with pasta RM28 (All day set)
Lasagne RM20
Up frist came our bruschetta, it came in 3 different varieties. Smoked salmon and dill, Tomato and smoked oyster and seafood with aubergine. Tastefully decorated on thick slices of bruschetta. It all tasted really good, especially since we were all so hungry.
Next up, our main meals, Huey ordered the Baked Oat Almond Snapper and we all agreed that presentation definitely got a perfect 10. It looked exactly how we would have pictured it.The baked snapper was well balanced on a bed of spinach and topped with some tomato puree and long beans. Deliciously tantalizing to the sight. As for the taste, it went quite well with the serve of lemon they provided which we squeezed generously over our meal. It was gooood…
The roast beef risotta was also a sight to the eyes. The roast beef was a tinged with a slight pink, and placed on a serve of spinach risotto. I loved this dish. Everything was done just right. The beef was tender and the risotto was very tasty and creamy. To top it off, it came with a nice thick brown sauce which went well with everything.
Shene had the chicken Fricasse with pasta, which was a thick creamy chicken pasta with caramelized baby onions. This dish is actually a French classic combining stewed chicken in creamy white wine however, I don’t think they used wine in this dish as this place is halal. They probably thought up some other concoction. The pasta was good, but a tad bit too creamy for my taste but the chicken was very tender.
Both me and Shene ordered the November All Day Special set with came with a Soup of the Day ( Potato and Leek soup) and coffee/tea. It was only RM28++.
Rhe’s order of lasagne came generously served as you can see. It was rich in flavour and tasted quite alright but kinda ordinary. The cheese was melting all over the place so for those cheese lovers out there, you might want to consider ordering this dish.
It wasn’t long till we were stuffed. From over hungry to over ate. I quite enjoyed the meals, though its price is abit on the high side. Not something we can do everyday, but it was great catching up with old friends over a nice dinner. We actually overstayed our welcome as well, as we were so busy chit chatting that we didn’t realised the time. It wasn’t until I saw some of the waiters leaving that we realised it was half past 10. It was quite funny.
