D’italiane Kitchen, Jaya 33, Section 13, Petaling Jaya
My cousin being a pasta fanatic decided to come to d’italiane kitchen to celebrate his birthday. Situated in a corner in Jaya 33, the entrance to this restaurant from the shopping mall was a bit hard to find as you have to walk towards the village grocer before you see the entrance on your left. But from the outside, you could just walk right in.
A simple layout with an open bar, it was a very easy going environment to dine in. The menu they had was pretty extensive covering a wide range of pastas which was quite impressive.
My cousin ordered his all time favourite dish of fettucine carbonara. The carbonara here was served in a very thick rich cream based sauce and came with a good amount of beef bacon. The beef bacon they put into this dish was very nice, not those hard dry bacon, but this was relatively soft, and had a nice smoky beef taste to it. Almost like beef jerky.
Another dish we had was the lamb shank. This is an absolutely must try. The meat was so tender, we didn’t even have to use the knife they provided to cut the meat. You can eat the lamb with just a fork, that’s how tender it was. It was as if it was slow cooked for hours with the taste infused into the meat.
We also tried the seafood platter which came heaped on a big plate. It was a very generous serve of seafood. Huge prawns, oysters, whitefish and calamari all smothered in cheese and topped off with peppercorns, black olives and chopped tomatoes. The grilled white fish was very tasty, and the calamari still retained its crispy-ness. The prawns was a little dry, but other than that it was a well satisfying meal.
I tried the risotto salmone. This risotto was a tomato based risotto and came smoke salmon and cooked salmon. I think they could have worked a bit more of the presentation to make it more appetizing. Overall not bad, but after awhile, you’ll get very jelat.
To end the meal we finished off with a nice glass of iced chocolate. One of our favourites. We loved it !!

Feast your eyes on this
For my uncle this year, with him still being a bachelor and all, we decided to mess with him and order him a cupcake cake made out of corsets, bikinis and tushes. When we opened the box, we were awe struck. It looked too good to eat. Look at it.

We got this from a family friend who has gone into baking cupcakes full time. And its a good thing she did, look at the detail of each cupcake. Each cupcake is delicately decorated up to the finest details from the tiny ribbons on the corset to the fishnet stockings.
Would you eat this?
The white cupcakes were actually orange flavored butter cake while the chocolate ones were obviously chocolate. Moist and deliiiciouss…We were all pretty reluctant to dig in, but in the end, once we started on the first cupcake we just couldn’t stop.
