The Bakery, Genting Highlands Resort
After the perilous cable car ride up to Genting highlands (it was very windy ok), we were hungry and began scouting around for food, when a colorful display of cupcakes caught my eye in the nearby bakery. So after I stood there gawking for awhile we decided to go in and get ourselves some tea time snacks. And guess what, the name of the bakery was ‘Bakery’ .The interior deco was very nice and chic, lotsa white giving it a very open spacious look.
We decided to get some scones with jam (RM4.50) and a wild mushroom quiche (RM5.00) just to satisfy our cravings. The cold weather was really making us hungry and what better than some hot scones and quiche.
We opted for the window seat to see people blowing in the wind since it was quite windy and also to watch the mist go by. Just chilling and relaxing and enjoying each others company. Perfect place to relax with a book or a group of friends. They also had fresh sandwiches which were made using fresh breads straight from the oven and they also had a wide variety of ingredients to choose from. But I must warn that these sandwiches are not cheap, RM19 to be exact. But then again, we were in Gentings and things are always more pricey.
So after gambling, or a day out at the theme park, remember to save enough money to pay this place a visit. The Bakery, Highlands Hotel, Genting. Its opposite the Coffee Terace Buffet. Just look to your right and the cupcakes will catch your eye, just like what it did to me.
Panadero Bakery – Centrepoint, Bandar Utama
Tucked in a little corner in centrepoint is this cozy little bakery called ‘Panadero Bakery’ which I frequent everytime I drop by centrepoint. Small as it may seem this bakery serves up a wide variety of buns, croissants, breads, cookies ,cakes and even nasi lemak and bihun goreng which could even give bread story a run for its money.
Ok, maybe not breadstory , but it does have a good selection of yummy wholesome goodies. They even sell wholemeal croissonts . And need I mention that it’s baked fresh daily?
One of the perks of this bakery is the various discounts you can get . Come in anytime after 9pm and its ‘bake off’ time where you’ll get a 50% discount off all the items on the rack. Not bad right? Plus for senior citizens (55 yrs and above ) you are entitled for a 10% discount off the bill and the same goes for college students. Just flash your student card to save money.
Another benefit for you students is also the lepak hour where for 2.00 ringgit you can get 1/2 a mug of coffee. (I’m assuming it should be a relatively big mug..)
Anyway, if you are ever in centre point , do pay this little bakery a visit. Its well worth your money and it fills ur tummy.
