Rumah Ku Gallery and Cafe – An Assortment of Food in Petaling Jaya Section 11

I have always passed by this gallery and cafe on a daily basis on the way to work. Finally, we managed to find the time to give it a try. They serve a variety of food which include Chinese, Indian, Malay and even Italian.

Rumah Ku Gallery and Cafe has a very homely feel to it with the wooden furniture, marble top tables and decor. From the outlook of this establishment, you may mistake it for a house on the side of  a very busy road. The bungalow is quite noticeable with bright orange walls so it would be hard to miss if you are driving down Jalan Universiti.

Now for some food! We started it off with a yam basket with chicken. Also found in several Chinese restaurants, their version of the yam basket with chicken proved to be quite tasty and also goes well with a bowl of white rice. We did not order the large serve, so the portion size was smaller.

The sizzling beancurd and long beans with XO sauce were served with fresh ingredients. The beans were really fresh and had a crunch to it.

Mutton Porial is a dish that is stir-fried with dry curry spices. Even though the serving looks small, the little mutton cubes are packed full of rich of flavours.

The homely ambience definitely makes this a good place to take families and young kids or even a nice place to chit chat with friends. There are even couches outside for you to have a nice cup of iced tea on a sunny afternoon.

They also have a branch in Brickfields, along the main road, opposite the PosLaju office (slightly to the right).

I highly recommend this place, and you have to also try the Indonesian Claypot Curry Prawns and the Portuguese Fish (pictures can be found http://www.iantan.net/2009/03/rumahku.html).

BTW, the brickfields branch also suffers from parking convenience but slightly better if you are willing to walk.

Hi Ian, yea I’ve heard they have one in Brickfields as well. Have yet to check it out. And will most definitely by trying the curry prawns after looking at those mouth watering pictures on your site. Haha.
The Portuguese fish looks really good too!
