This contemporary Chinese restaurant was recommended by a friend and we decided to test what he claimed to be the best KL Hokkien Mee around.
Tucked away in a little corner in Bangsar Village 2, Reunion is a small restaurant with new age decor.
I saw something on the menu which looked rather interesting and thought we should give it a try, Rosebud tea. It literally is what it says and is something different from the usual pot of Chinese Tea that you would find in most Chinese restaurants.
This is their mix of Char Siew and Siew Yoke. I particularly like the crisp outer skin of the siew yoke here, which was also generously layered with some fat.
The Fragrant Vegetable Tofu was nice and simple, with a mix of diced meat to top it off. The service was rather prompt as the dishes came out soon after we had ordered.
After much waiting came the dish we had been waiting for, Hokkien Mee. The waiters dished out individual bowls of the glistening noodles which looked ever so tempting. The noodles did not disappoint, however, I still felt as though something was missing.
Ended the meal with some fortune cookies. What was the fortune? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see if it is true.
