MMmmm..judging by the sign of the crab on their sign board, i’m sure you can pretty much guess what this post is going to be about. Yes..crab. Me and my family always frequent this place in Kepong whenever we are up for crabs at a reasonable to cheap price. Hence you can see why this place is so packed. Remember to get there early if not, you’ll have to get in queue for your table.
We were lucky enough that day to be able to secure a table, but then again, we did go there at 6pm which was still relatively early for dinner. Even then, the queue was already starting to form.
We placed our orders below and waited anticipatingly for our meals to show, which came not long after.
Kam Heong Crab (XL) 1kg RM20
Salted Egg Crab 1kg RM30
Coconut Curry Prawns RM26
Tong Poh Pork RM20
Teochew style Tau Fu RM16
Spinach Vegetable Soup RM16
Stirfry Lettuce RM15
Half Roast Chicken RM20
First up came the Coconut curry prawns and as the name goes, it does come in a coconut filled with prawn curry. I love this dish, hmm..actually it looks like I like any dish which is seafod curry . But they were pretty generous on the prawn and it also came with alot of vegetabls like long beans, chillis, cabbage, onions.
Next was the Tong Poh Yuk. See we couldn’t even get a good shot since it was snapped up so fast. So you don’t need me to tell you how good it is right? Anyways, it was pretty good, the sauce was thick and sweet but not too sweet, and the meat, well it was more meat than fat so thats good too (health wise). It came with the fried buns, which we again had to order double since it was eaten up to fast.
This Tau Fu is also their chew pai ( signature ) tau fu, done teo chew style. The tau fu used was egg tau fu and topped with marinated mince meat. The tau fu was a bit small, so we ordered seconds after finishing the first plate.
To help wash down all the food, we got a bowl of spinach vegetable soup which came with century egg. The soup broth was pretty sweet from the spinach. Very tasty soup.
The half roast chicken was pretty standard, with the meat quite tender ( cause my grandparents were able to eat it, thats how i gauge whether it is tender or not..LoL). It came with a side of the chicken rice chilli to dip in.
At last, our Kam Heong Crab arrives. This is one of their house specialities. You can see this dish on almost every table there. I had to hold my family back whilst we tried to get a good shot. I could see them literally drooling as we did so. Finally, we dug in, getting our hands dirty and banging and clanging away with the tools to crack the crab shells.
Lastly came the salted Egg Crab. This is one of my favourite styles of crab, I love the saltiness of the salted egg and the sweetness of the crab meat coming together. The person who thought of this style must have been a genius in my book. I just sucked and ate all the crab meat I could get out of it. Oo..yum.
So if you guys want good cheap crab/seafood, this is the place to go, just remember you have to come early to get a seat cause it gets really packed. But despite being so packed, I must say they have still managed to maintain their quality of food.

haha, I don’t think the owner of the restaurant will be so gracious as to give us the recipe. Why don’t you pay them a visit the next time you are back in KL? Then you can do as what Alan did ( read comments above) and order 10 different crabs at one shot. Eat till your heart’s content…;)
