LaLa Chong Seafood Restaurant, Kayu Ara Damansara

With a catchy name like Lala Chong, it is sure to bring people flocking to the restaurant. And the fact that it is situated in the middle of Kampung Kayu Ara, and still be full during dinner means that it is a worthy restaurant to dine at. This place is located on the same road as Pantai Seafood Restaurant. So just drive a little further down and you won’t miss it.

This place offers both air con seating and semi alfresco seating where you sit outdoors, but under a roof with lots of fans. There were like fans every 4 feet so in hot humid weather like what we get everyday, this place can still be considered an option because of the fans which keeps the area nice and cool.

Being a seafood restaurant, we went for steamed pompret. They gave us a pretty big fish for 3 people. It looked good though topped with coriander, deep fried ginger and garlic garnishing. The taste I felt was a bit lacking, however, it was a very meaty fish. The texture was very firm, kinda like eating a scallop, which I like.

We also ordered Kam Heong Lala. Normally kam heong style would be abit dry, but this one was a little more wet to my liking. I also found it a bit sweet, but apparently my parents thought otherwise. They liked it.

Lastly, I ordered my favorite steamed egg. There of a kind steam egg. This was average, but we still finished it nevertheless.

This place was only average to me. But judging by the crowd, I think we might have ordered the wrong dishes that night. They have quite a variety of seafood there as they have live tanks in the restaurant. It looks like the Sang Har Mee there was quite a hit as I saw a few dishes going out. They also serve lobster as you can see from the picture above. Look at the size of that thing! It was huge. Maybe next round?
