Looking for a kick-start to your afternoon? Kanna Curry House Restaurant serves up its famous banana leaf rice at Seksyen 17. A few of us decided to make this our brunch pit-stop on a Sunday afternoon.
When the weather is good, sitting under the shade of the trees by the roadside gives you a breath of fresh air. However, if the weather is not favourable, then there is also space inside the restaurant.
Banana leaf rice is typically served from the early afternoon onwards and for those who haven’t tried it, the banana leaf is your plate! After being served your ‘plate’, some of the waiters will also dish out rice, papadums (a type of cracker) and a variety of vegetables such as cabbage and cucumbers. You have the option of eating with a fork and spoon, or with your hands if you fancy.
Of course, having the name Kanna Curry House Restaurant, you have to have some curry to go with it! Here you have choices of several curries and dhall.
Typically, we would also try a range of meats and seafood for an overall balanced meal (most of which seemed to be deep-fried). I personally preferred having my banana leaf rice with the fried chicken.
