This is one of the famous Ipoh Hor Fun shops in Taman Tun. It’s situated at the back of the block buildings near Plaza VADs, so it might be abit tricky to find. It’s actually facing the parking lot of the Taman Tun wet market. The only serve two things here Ipoh Hor Fun and Hainanese Chicken Rice, oh and yes the prawn wantans.
This place can get pretty pack around lunch time and the queue to take away can be quite long as well as most people just drive by the lane and order.
Its a very simple dish, Ipoh Hor Fun. You can either get it served to you individually or you can order the chicken to share and eat it together with your kway teow soup. The chickens here are really meaty and I hope they are meaty the ‘natural’ way with no enhancements added to it..haha. You can see the close up shots of the chickens hanging in front of the shop, it looks like their breasts are going to pop out of their skin.
One thing I like here is their ‘tau geh’ aka beansprouts. It’s thick and juicy, the closest I can find to actual Ipoh beansprouts.
The hor fun itself is very ‘cheng’ and tasty with lots of chives. This is a dish I eat on a nice rainy day when or when I’m feeling blue cause it’s comforting ![]()
There is also the prawn wantans, but this is nothing to shout about. I was a bit disappointed at this because the prawns were measly in fact, if it didn’t say prawn wantans, I wouldn’t have guessed that it was a prawn wantan. And I remember it being much bigger as well.
