We were invited to sample the delectable Ramadhan buffet feast in Cinnamon Coffee house at One World Hotel again. I always look forward to going to Cinnamon’s buffet because I know I will not be disappointed by the spread as well as the quality of food. This year, once again, we were once again impressed by the variety they have prepared. With a diverse menu of over 100 dishes all in favour of the Citarasa 1 Malaysia Theme. Various stalls tempting you with local malay, chinese, indian and international cuisine. It really is a feast for the eyes and palate.
Above is the picture of the chefs who’s labour of love we were sampling that night. Job well done guys. As you can see, they really do follow the theme of citarasa 1 Malaysia as they have an Indian, Chinese and Malay chef to help cater to our tastebuds.
Start off your buka puasa with a huge range of dates as well as traditional Malay dishes to open your palate. There’s just so many to chose from. Some of the dishes they had that day was rendang daging rembau, ketam goreng berlada pontian, udang sambal petai muar, kambing kari teluk gong, nasi beriani gam johor, mee bandung, laksa kedah…just to name a few. The list is too long.
The roast lamb was one of the first things that caught my eye when entering the restaurant. Look at the sheer size of it! At first glance, I seriously thought it was a camel. The lamb was ‘crispy’ on the outside, but the meat inside was really juicy. You can eat it with the briyani rice on the side and roast vegetables.
Then there was the ‘wall’ of cheeses. It was basically a plastic wall with lots of spoons sticking out of it, and on each spoon is a little something made either from cheese or a mousse. I tried the pink one which was cream cheese infused with dragon fruit. It’s a very unique taste and not as heavy as I thought it to be. They also had squid ink pasta which you can customize with the type of pasta sauce you want. ![]()
There is also the ‘ steamed’ section, where you can get fresh ingredients to put boil in your steamboat or dim sum. Be careful when you take the items from the dim sum rack as that steam is pretty hot. The items on the dim sum rack that day was steamed sweet corn and pau.
One of my personal favourites, the Japanese section with the never ending replenishment of sashimi, sushi and tempura. All done fresh before your eyes. The sashimi and sushi is of course at the highest quality and the freshness of the food they use here is undeniable.
Not forgetting dessert of course. You must try the little pancake wrapped custard here ( I can’t recall it’s exact name). But its basically custard wrapped in pancake and is done on the spot. I loved it. They have so much dessert that if I were to put all the pictures up, it will just go on and on. Other desserts they had were tau fu fah, bubur lambuk, apam balik……
So if you are looking for a place with an international and local spread, do come by to Cinnamon Coffehouse for their Ramadhan buffet. It’s definitely not to be missed. You can also try their ramadhan specials at the chinese restaurant Zuan Yuan and their bbq buffet by the pool bar.
