FT: Celestrial Court, Sheraton Kuala Lumpur

We had the opportunity to be invited to Celestrial Court for their Chinese New Year menus which they had in conjunction with Standard Chartered Extravagant 8 promotion.

The ambience was lovely and all geared up to usher in the rabbit year.

We started with the yee sang and we were pleasantly surprised to see it in a shape of a white rabbit. A very creative way of presenting the yee sang. It is meant to be a little white rabbit on a bed of grass.

Next was a Braised Shredded Chicken Soup with Fish Maw which was happily greeted by anti shark fin lovers

Next was Roasted Chilli Chicken with Chilli Oil. This was a hit with the table as it was something very different, and very Malaysia I must say since the the chilli paste was made personally by the Chef incorporating a local touch of Sambal Belacan.

Then we had the Two varieties of vegetable braised with bamboo pith and black Chinese mushroom. The vegetable dish for the 8 course meal.

And one of my favourites, Cod fish simmered in Chinese Herbal gravy. this was delicious and the meat was nice fresh and succulent.

To top if off, they served a honey BBQ Chicken Fried Rice with Scallops. Despite being so full, we had two serves of this, and even ta-bau some home as the serving was huge.

For desserts, we had Deep Fried Nian Gao with Yam and Sweetened Red Bean puree with lotus seed, lotus petal and sesame dumpling for dessert.

It was a real treat eating here and we all had a great time.
