Frames, TTDI Plaza, Taman Tun

IMG_0484 Me and my girlfriend Lynn were looking for a nice quiet place for a sit down lunch over one of the weekends. We finally decided on Frames at TTDI Plaza. I’ve walked passed it a few times before and have been quite fascinated the cafe walls are literally arranged with frame after frame of photo frames.

As you can see from the pictures, the walls are just lots and lots of pictures framed in the same frames. The pictures are actually taken by the  Asha Carlos who also does photography full time. The pictures are beautiful and are a refreshing way to keep you busy while waiting for your food to arrive.

We felt like pasta that day. So we ordered:-

Classic Spaghetti Carbonara

Italian Herbs Pesto

Gramoluchi

Deep Purple

IMG_0481 Lynn’s order of Classic Spaghetti Cabonara was the first to arrive. It was pretty creamy, with slices of chicken and oyster mushroom and topped with crunchy bacon. The sauce could have been more flavourful, but it was ok in general.

IMG_0480My Italian Herb Pesto pasta came next. And I have to say I was abit disappointed, because it looked exactly like Lynn’s pasta except without the sauce. There was also very little chicken in my pasta.

But, while we were eating, I believe it was the owner came up to us to ask how was our food. We told him our thoughts and he was kind enough to make us some extra grilled chicken for our pasta. On the house! So I must applaud service like that.

Most of the time you voice out,but nothing much gets done. This time, they actually made an effort to ask us and tried to  make our dining experience more enjoyable. So good on you Frames! :)

For drinks we got Italian sodas, since I”ve never tried them before. I got Gramoluchi shown in the picture above. Its pretty much syrup in soda water, but it was refreshing enough especially mine came with a slice of lemon and lychees.

All in all, it was a very favourable afternoon. Even though the food could have been  better but the customer service shown made up for it all. I’ll be back.

I agree with you. Most of the time they only say “sorry”, some don’t even bother and take it personally.

Yeah, tried it the other day – good food :)

After that went for a wonderful Thai Massage at amanwadi thai spa (across the road at Wan Kadir 2). Very reasonable rates – their contact number is 0163322678 for those who want to relax their bodies and their stomachs..clean and nicely done place, and very reasonable prices too…

hey June, the price range (if i remember correctly) was from the teens to twenties. But it might have changed since they mentioned that they will be changing their menu which could mean new prices.
