‘SMELLS LIKE HELL TASTES LIKE HEAVEN’
Yes you read it right. Recently, the new trend in Durian sessions are all you can eat durians and where else to find it at none other in ss2. There are quite a few stalls selling durian there as we found out while paying a trip there recently.
As you walk towards the red tents along the road side, the pungent sweet smell of durian hits you in the face. This scent would prolly drive the durian lovers to speed up their pace to get a place in the already crowded stalls.
Durian lovers are spoilt for choice with the many varieties of durians to choose from. The most sort after durian being the Raja Kunyit durian. Of course priced the highest. We didn’t go for the durian buffet that day as we came straight after a full dinner. So we just went ‘ala carte’ as you can call it.
After careful selection of the many many many durians on the shelf, the worker will crack open one and show us the meaty yellow durian waiting inside the shell.
We also asked him to recommend and choose the durians for us since we are not durian experts ourselves.
Above are some of the durians we had that night. Not that much, just a few raja kunyit, udang merah, and D24. Pardon the lighting as the place was so full we had to sit in the outside carpark in the dark. See for yourself below how packed the area was.
Coming to one of these places to eat, does really give one the feeling of muhibah. Its at places like these you see all the races getting along, with a smile on their face. Yes, durian brings us all together..lol.
By the way, for the ‘All you can eat Durian’ the price is normally at RM10. But you can only pick from a selected few in a basket. Its actually really worth it if you think about it. I think most families went there to have durian for dinner. Something to consider this ramadhan?
