After a long day’s work, we headed over to Desserts bar Tropicana to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Being our first time there, we were really impressed. The lay out of the restaurant was nicely done, with the open ‘dessert’ bar placed in the centre of the café giving us full view on how our yummy desserts were being prepared.

Our dessert list consists of the following:-

1. Ice Cream Crepe
2. Fruity Flips
3. Triple Shooter
4. Vanilla Banana milkshake ( soy milk)

Ice Cream Crepe

Ice Cream Crepe

So first off , the ice cream crepe came with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream topped off with almond flakes. It came piping hot, straight off the ‘bar’. Ooo..yumminess.

Fruity Flips - Pancakes with mixed fruits and fresh jam-

Next, came our Fruity Flips which was exactly what the name was, a stack of pancakes, with each pancake over a layer of mixed fruits. If you are a health freak, this will go down well with you. I can’t imagine any other dessert being this healthy, and to top it up it came with a side of their home made jam and honey. There were a various selection of jams you can choose from. We got the mango and kiwi jam since it was something different and it went really well with our pancakes.

Triple Shooter - Panna Cotta with different flavours of jams-

The Triple Shooter

So next on the list was the triple shooter which was panna cotta. Panna cotta is actually an Italian phrase for ‘cooked cream’ and is prepared by simmering together cream, milk, sugar and gelatin and letting it cool until it sets. Each panna cotta came in three different flavors of fruit jellies on top namely, mango, kiwi and raspberry and was very light on our palate. We enjoyed every spoon of it.

Vanila Banana Milkshake - Soy Milk-

Lastly, was the vanilla banana milkshake. One thing that makes this place stand out from the rest, is the fact that they also cater to lactose intolerant people by providing the option of soy milk. Choosing your milkshake was made rather simple by a 1, 2, 3, step guide on how to do so.

All in all , our bill came out a total of RM46.20 which was approx 12 bucks per person. I find this place a good place to chill out after dinner or to unwind after a days work. Great dessert , friendly staff, it definitely gets a thumbs up. Plus , they have various outlets in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, so you can visit them at the nearest outlet near you. Visit their website for more details.
