Feedmelah.com Top 1,000,000 Websites In The World!
For alot of you Food Bloggers out there, you’ll be familiar with Alexa.com and how they rank websites.
Well I’m proud to say that Feedmelah.com has finally breached 1 Million!
Ok I know being top 1 Million doesn’t sound very impressive, but if you consider that the internet has hundreds of millions of websites competing for traffic, then it’s not bad right?
For a website less than 1 year old, I think that we’ve been able to build our traffic up really well and thanks to all our new, current and future visitors for dropping by Feedmelah.com!
Now hopefully it stays up
Welcome To The NEW Feedmelah.com!
Hi everyone and welcome to the NEW version of Feedmelah.com – Your Ultimate Food Finder. In an earlier post I mentioned that we were upgrading to feature a search directory on our main site.
What I didn’t realize when I said that was how difficult it would be getting the site up and ‘Live’… with the blog disappearing at one point (my fault… haha), bugs and other things happening all at the same time.
I guess that’s what happens with new sites huh?
After being up till 6a.m and with the help of my overworked web designer, most of the problems have been fixed and what you see here is almost the bug free site
We’ll be posting up short tutorials on how to use the different functions of our site, but they’re pretty simple, so just have a look around, explore and try out what you see.
However, we’re still trying to get rid of some of the little bugs in our site, so we ask for your patience as we try to squash them all.
If you find any which you’d like to tell us about, you can email us at info [at] feedmelah [dot] com.
Until then, we’ll be posting our food posts as usual, while at the same time expanding our database so that we can give you more search areas and cuisines.
Thanks!
Feedmelah.com Is Upgrading! Tell Your Friends!
Feedmelah.com is upgrading our site to bring all our visitors something more, something bigger and better, to truly reach for our goal of being Malaysia’s Ultimate Food Finder…
And to accomplish this, our new site will have a search module (the ‘Food Finder’), where you will be able to search for restaurants by location, cuisine or a combination of both.
And if you can’t decide? Well you can try our new ‘randomizer!’ button… and let us choose for you.
Right now our database is relatively small, including only some of the larger shopping malls in the Klang Valley, but we are constantly going out, collecting information and slowly but surely growing our database…
But what about the blog, I hear you say?Well don’t worry, it’ll still be in the same place it has always been and we will update it as often and as diligently as we ever have before.
However, you might want to bookmark this page (press Ctrl + D) to make it easier to get to, because if you type http://feedmelah.com, you’ll head on over to our food finder and not to our blog anymore.
Our blog will be located at http://feedmelah.com/blog.
It’s been a relatively short few months since we said ‘Welcome To Feedmelah.com!’ and soon, we’ll be saying ‘Welcome To The New Feedmelah.com!’.
We couldn’t have done it without the comments and support of our readers, friends and family. So for that, we thank you all.
Stay tuned for the new site, it’ll be arriving shortly. Oh and tell your friends about it if you could! We’d really apprecaite it…
Wish us luck with our new site, we’re going to need it!
Thanks on behalf of the Feedmelah.com team,
-William Lee
How To Subscribe To Us
Hi everyone and welcome back to Feedmelah.com!
I know you were probably expecting a post on some sort of scrumptious food that we’ve been making ourselves fat from, but unfortunately, we’re not going to post about food today.
Today, we would like to ask you to do us a favour, to help Feedmelah.com rise up the ranks and become a stronger, better website. Today, we ask/plead/beg/kowtow to you and ask if you could subscribe to us and add us to one of the many subscription readers out there.
Why subscribe?
The reason we need your help subscribing to us is to help us raise the numbers that you see highlighted in the screenshot above.
The one which says rank: 3,584,446 is the ‘Alexa ranking’ which shows what place we are on the entire Internet (yes, that means we are 3 millionth++ in the world). Yahoo.com ranks as number 1 in the world (I’m sure we’ll catch up one day).
But do you see the one that says PR: 0? That’s what we really really need help with. This number shows the ‘Google Page Rank’ and indicates the authority of a site as how Google sees it. Because we are quite new, a page rank of 0 is expected, with 10 being the maximum number. The White House is ranked PR10 and if they subscribe to us, we’ll automatically be upgraded to PR9. Any ideas how we can get that to happen?
But another way of increasing the ranking is if people subscribe to our site. The more subscribers we get, the higher the chance (though not guaranteed) of our PR increasing and hence our rankings in Google.
So could you guys please help us out? Just follow the below instructions.
Thanks on behalf of Feedmelah.com!
The Photo Shoot
With the new development of our website, Feedmelah.com, we have decided to make it more personal. With this in mind, we thought ‘why not have our faces on the website’. But, rather than just pasting boring passport-like photographs of ourselves, we spent time brainstorming on how we could
make it more interesting. The collage of portraits would have to be fun and yet be meaningful. After much time spent at a kopitiam with half-boiled eggs, kaya toast, and coffee, we concluded that a catchy tagline and fun pictures would convey the message of our love for food.
We decided to take a twist on the phrase “See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil” by providing a website that would cater to all that are lost when it comes to searching for food. With that, our theme is:
“See No Food, Speak No Food, Hear No Food? Then come to Feedmelah.com”
Next, we needed an empty canvas to paint our portraits (or in our case, a white wall)
and a DSLR.
The day was hot, but we were determined to get the right shot, even if that meant total frustration at how the shots turned out.
Making sure that we used the right camera for the job (get it right Steve), we tested different poses and worked at it till we got it just right (eventually).
Signs of Frustration
Besides ourselves, we also need some help from a selected range of temptations, which included some unhealthy, yet satisfying treats.
The Three Deadly Sins
We experimented with a range of different ideas, from a burger-headed monster
to the confusion of having too many choices
but in the end, we gave in to temptation.

Welcome To Feedmelah.com!
Hi there and welcome to Feedmelah.com (the making of…).
What’s our site about? Well, at first we had a huge plan of ‘Going Live’ with a huge and complex website that would skyrocket us to fame, fortune and success. But then oil prices went up and we ran out of money. So instead we decided to start this blog.
Although I may be sitting in my car across the street from Starbucks using their Wi-Fi for free while I write this, I can promise you that our aim is still the same: To make Feedmelah.com Malaysia’s (KL and Selangor first) Ultimate Food Finder. To provide you with a way to find food, when you want it and the way you want to find it.
This blog will tell you everything we’re doing on the site, as and when we’re doing it (while asking your feedback at the same time).
We’ll ask you about what you like to eat, where you like to eat, how much you spend when you eat, how you would find places to eat, what you think is a good place to eat and much much more. We’ll even ask you what you think of our web design and logo.
But in between, we’ll post about interesting food facts, about places we’ve eaten at, about what we ate for breakfast, lunch and maybe even dinner. We’ll post some recipes and plenty of pictures of food to get you hungry and drooling. Basically, we will be a proper Flog (Food Blog).
As we’re first marketing this out to our mutual friends (and their mutual friends) on Facebook, we’re hoping that you can help us out as much as you can by telling more friends and giving feedback on any of our posts that ask for help/ feedback. We’ll also be keeping our Facebook page updated as an alternative to this blog, so please feel free to leave comments on our Wall there too.
Let me thank you in advance for helping us build and grow this site and helping us achieve our goals: To create this website based on what YOU want. After all, it’s for YOU, not us. And to making this site Malaysia’s Ultimate Food Finder (KL and Selangor first).
Come back again for more, much much more.
-The Feedmelah.com team.
