Crabs in de Foodland at Bandar Sri Menjalara
In 1999, the original establishment was opened in the industrial area of Kepong. Back then, the creamy butter crab was a hit and the owners noted the returning customers. Over time, de Foodland has introduced over 30 styles of crabs and continues to be enjoyed by old and new customers. In 2002, to accommodate for such growth, de Foodland shifted to their new premises in Bandar Sri Menjalara. They have also planned for the large crowds by attaining 2 shoplots with a larger seating capacity.
Their Kung Po Mantis Prawn is a delicious treat as the meat has been de-shelled for your ease of eating pleasure.
This is a well done tofu dish. The silken smooth tofu in the Foodland Special “Choi Heong” Tofu is complimented well with the light sauce and the minced meat toppings that will have you craving for more.
Of course, we had to order some crabs. The Sweet & Sour Crab is a dish that was quite tasty. Drenched in a thick sauce, this made it even better to dip the mantou (buns).
Seeing that this is their specialty, the Creamy Butter Crabs was definitely on our menu. Let’s just say that the plate was wiped clean of all the sauce and the crabs were devoured in no time. If you want to have more sauce, they have made provision for it by being able to order additional sauce separately. We had a total of four crabs at a cost of RM126 which was quite reasonable considering the size of the crabs.
Overall, it is no wonder de Foodland manages to retain loyal customers through quality food at a reasonable price.
