Vietnam House – Genting Highlands
I was recently suggested to try this Vietnamese restaurant situated in Genting Highlands and was pleasantly surprised. Amongst the bright colours and bountiful decorations of this indoor theme park lies Vietnam House. At the entrance, you have to cross a small bridge to get to the restaurant. With my minimal understanding of Vietnamese, it seems that most of the waiters and waitresses were indeed Vietnamese. This definitely added much authenticity to the overall dining experience.

Starting things off with this interesting drink that amongst other ingredients, had beans and durian. The overwhelming taste of the durian could prove to be too strong for those who do not particularly fancy the taste of durian. However, it was something unusual that we thought we should try.

The salads that they serve are fresh; this one had slices of carrots, white and red cabbage, spring onions, slices of chicken and was doused in a tangy sauce which had some elements of fish sauce.

Next was the broken rice with pork chop and egg. This is a must-try dish for those who want an introduction to Vietnamese cuisine with a tender and juicy pork chop which was however, slightly too oily.

Another favourite Vietnamese dish that you would expect to find is the Pho with sliced beef. The noodles here are silky smooth and are complimented with bean sprouts, lime, chillis and spring onions.

So, if you happen to be in Genting Highlands looking for a value meal, then why not give this a try?
