Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant – Korean BBQ in Desa Sri Hartamas
Daorae Korean BBQ has various outlets which include Subang USJ, Kota Damansara, Puchong, Kepong as well as this one in Desa Sri Hartamas. This establishment is along the same row as Maybank and is quite easy to spot with its sign board brightly lit in red and blue.

Daorae Korean BBQ
As expected from a Korean BBQ restaurant, you get an assortment of side dishes. The one I always look forward to is kimchi, which literally translated means “to preserve”. Kimchi is a traditional Korean pickled dish that is made of pickled vegetables (typically cabbage) in a spicy sauce. There were quite a few side dishes, however as the night was rather busy, it took the staff some time to refill the bowls.

Mmmm Kimchi

Some greens to go with the meat
In this Korean BBQ, you have the stove right in front of you and the staff would come around to help you cook it. This is the typical way of grilling meats such as beef, pork and chicken.

Before
We had the Woo-sel-goo-ee which is thin slices of fresh ox tongue. You can dip it in a salted sesame oil sauce and wrap it in some of the greens that of course, like other Korean BBQ restaurants are refillable.

After

Sesame Oil Sauce
The Yang-nyum Dak-gal-bi is lean skinless chicken fillets marinated in a soy sauce, after cooked they would cut it up into smaller bite size pieces. The restaurant was rather busy at the time and at times it was quite difficult to get attention of the staff especially since we were situated in one of the rooms. However, after every item that we cooked, they came around to change the metal plate so that we would not get the remains of the charred bits.

Chicken Chicken Chicken
The Dongtae Tang (RM70) is one of the various hotpots available. It includes chunks of Pollack fish, tofu and vegetables simmering in a chili soup. The soup was quite tasty, however for the price, perhaps there could have been more of the Pollack in the soup.

The sign just says ‘restoran korea’ followed by some korean words. But will post about it soon.

You’re probably looking at around RM30 – RM50 per bbq meat dish… quite standard prices for Korean restaurants now-a-days.
