Restoran Soong Kee – Beef Ball Noodles in Kuala Lumpur
Restoran Soong Kee’s Beef Ball Noodles have been served since 1945 by two generations and continue to be enjoyed. The interior is air-conditioned, so this is an option for those looking for a good quick meal during lunch hours whilst wanting to escape the heat. We decided to visit this place for supper.

Cooking Beef Ball Noodles for over 60 years
You can order a small or large portion of beef noodles which are reasonably priced (RM4.50 for small portion and RM 5 for the large). Besides the lunch crowd that would gather here, we would usually come here for supper to avoid the city centre traffic. The springy thin yellow noodles are are topped with generous portions of minced meat and black soya sauce which compliment each other very well. I like to mix the noodles and sauce together and it is very satisfying, especially to satisfy your late night hunger cravings.

Noodles with Minced Meat
Besides the noodles you also have a choice of others such as the one below (literally translated to rat tail noodle), or if you wish to have tripe, extra minced meat or more beef balls that can also be catered for.

Lou Shue Fan with Minced Meat
The beef balls are the main attraction here and as you can see, they are very generous with the portions. The meat in the beef balls has a smooth texture (much like in fish balls) and lightly salted, and for those that want to add more kick to it, you can also have it with a side of chili paste (slightly sour).

Just went there myself today. ordered a large bowl… it was fantastic.
I didn’t care that there was no vegetables and that the beef was a bit salty. It just tasted so good. haha.
Also ordered the beef (or was it pork) ball soup, and the meat bits inside were so tender. I have no idea how he got them that soft… I can’t believe the guy has been there so many many years already. I bet he’s a millionaire by now. haha.
