The fried rice cake is called "pek kueh" in hokkien. It means white kuih. My grandma used to cook this as we're of Heng Hwa descent. :) Nice reading the post.

Hi Christy, yea, the seafood curry is a definite must try, high on cholestrol but once in awhile its ok..LoL.

The rice cakes are not really the same as koay kak. Koay Kak is fried carrot cake right? This one is just rice cakes made out of rice flour. It is much starchier and firmer in texture compared to koay kak. But the style in which this dish was prepared was similar to how hokkien mee is prepared. =)

Nice sharing! The seafood curry...laden with seafood, really looks great:)
The rice cakes also seemed enticing, it's a Hokkien dish you say? You mean like Koay Kak? =)

I'm not sure if it's behind the 7-11... but I know that it's a few shoplots away from a banana leaf stall... from the shop if you're looking out of it, right in front of you is the Jalan Mahemeru overpass.

Have a look at the map above, use YMCA as a starting point and follow the roads till you get to the last row of shop lots before the highway. Good luck!
