Girls night out – The Apartment, The Curve
The other day, me and my girlfriend decided to go on a girls night out..absolutely no boys allowed. We decided on ‘The Apartment’ @ The Curve cause it looks so cozy and homey making it perfect to wine and dine and catch up on our chit chat.
So off to The Apartment we went, parking was no problem since we went early to avoid the dinner rush (630pm) though the Curve itself was packed since it was a weekend plus the weekend flea market was on..so we killed two birds with one stone, dinner and shopping ( Flea market @ The Curve) .
* Tip: Remember to park at The street cause that’s where all the restaurants are located.
We opted for alfresco style, sitting by the sidewalk since the weather was great, it jus rained hence the fresh air. We started going through the menu which was actually a clip board with ‘notes’ attached on it. It gave a very ‘back to school’ feel ..nostalgic..haha.
We decided on pastas for the night . Below is our order list
1. Baked aubergines (starters)
2. Jamie’s duck pasta (Main)
3. Red mullet spaghetti (Main)
4. Strawberry mint parfait (Dessert..heavenly I might add)
5. White wine more specifically Queen Adelaide and a Tyrell (Drinks)
Our orders did take quite awhile to come, I guess it was because it was buka puasa. (They were also having a Ramadhan Buffet going on at the same time but when we got there the food was still yet to be out). Orders got in probably around 20 minutes later with our mains coming first, odd that they got our starters and mains mixed up but cause we were ‘overpowered’ by hunger we just dug into our pastas.

So much food on so little a table.. L-R : Jamies's duck pasta , baked aubergines, Red mullet sphagetti
The Jamie’s duck pasta was delicious, it was a tomato based fettucine pasta with a minced duck sauce. All went together very well and not to add wine complimented the meal perfectly. The Red Mullet Spaghetti was also delicious, this was aglio olio style, very light on the palate with some grilled ‘slabs’ of red mullet, which I personally thought they could have been a bit more generous with. But it tasted good, good on my empty stomach. So followed by our mains was our starter, baked aubergines (Delicious).
Imagine baked aubergines topped with melted mozzarella cheese on top of a bed of fresh rocket coupled with freshly made tomato sauce… MMmmm. Plus may I add, the wine they recommended went perfectly well with our meal.
Last but not least, the highlight of the night DESSERT. We were quite full by the time we were done with our meals so we decided to share a dessert (which we regretted, cause it was soo good). Our strawberry mint parfait came in a tall glass, with several layers of cream tinged with mint, fresh strawberries and bread crumbs. We sat in silence as we savored it letting out the ccasional sigh of satisfaction..pure bliss. It gave a perfect ending to our dinner. Thinking about it still puts a smile on my face and a craving in my tummy..
All in all, The Apartment is a good place to hang and chill, to do some people watching (if you want) since its by the sidewalk. Plus, the feel on the inside of the restaurant is just as its name suggest, an apartment, nice and cozy, very inviting. A definite on the list for a girls night out. The extra plus of the flea market also is very seductive. The price is relatively affordable. Our total bill for that night came up to RM113 for two, which was alright since we did order some wine and the ingredients were also very fresh. It was worth it. =)
