Delicious Nyonya, Tropicana City mall
By Sue Ann at December 28, 2009 | 10:36 pm | 0 Comment
Stumbled upon this place while doing some shopping in Tropicana city mall. We were looking for somewhere reasonable to eat, and something simple and easy to eat. Most of the restaurants in the mall are abit on the pricey side, so we were quite happy when we found this place. I think they opened not long ago as it wasn’t there the last time I was a the mall. They have set lunch menus available and also a variety of nyonya kuih. Plus they have a 30% discount off the kuih after 6pm, making it a pit stop for pre-dinner munchies. We were greeted with a...

Thinking of a place to have a wholesome meal of nasi lemak or some place to take first time visitors to Malaysia. Then this is an introduction to a favourite dish amongst many Malaysians, Nasi Lemak. Traditionally, Nasi Lemak is wrapped in banana leaf. Inside you would find small dried anchovies, roasted peanuts, half of a hard boiled egg and hot spicy sambal. To make the meal even more filling, it is usually accompanied with either chicken, cuttlefish or even beef rendang as shown below. The rendang was nice and tender and with the coconut rice, it made for...

Just a couple of days ago, Christmas came early and it was celebrated the way it should be, with good food and good company. The location for this early Christmas celebration was in Dish along Jalan Tun Razak. Dish is located at Dua Annexe and just below Delicious on the ground floor (Do note that Dish and Delicious are different and bookings at this period would be recommended). Dish is touted as the upmarket version of Delicious and also has a range of the ingredients and deli choices for sale. In their bakery section, there are choices of pastries...
LaLa Chong Seafood Restaurant, Kayu Ara Damansara
By Sue Ann at December 16, 2009 | 11:15 pm | 1 Comments
With a catchy name like Lala Chong, it is sure to bring people flocking to the restaurant. And the fact that it is situated in the middle of Kampung Kayu Ara, and still be full during dinner means that it is a worthy restaurant to dine at. This place is located on the same road as Pantai Seafood Restaurant. So just drive a little further down and you won’t miss it. This place offers both air con seating and semi alfresco seating where you sit outdoors, but under a roof with lots of fans. There were like fans every 4 feet so in hot humid weather like what...

Season 7 will start in April 2010 and many of the winners of the competition and even some of the finalists go on to open very popular restaurants around the USA. We right now only have the AFC and some times Discovery Adventure and Travel on Astro that air cooking and food related programs but it's only a matter of time before newer cooking shows like Top Chef will start to air here. But it'll probably be a while still before we...
