How To Cut An Onion Without Crying
By William at July 30, 2009 | 10:00 am | 2 Comments
Here are some videos on how to cut an onion without bursting out into mountains of tears. Two completely different methods, but both seem to work quite well. "No need to cry, the onion doesn't feel any pain..." Is it just me, or are American onions really really...

Restoran Hung Kee – Wan Tan Mee along Jalan Loke Yew
By Steve at July 26, 2009 | 12:00 am | 6 Comments
Hung Kee started out in the mid 1960s serving delicious wan tan mee and has since expanded to take two shop lots. Situated along the busy road of Jalan Loke Yew (near the pedestrian bridge), parking around this area can get limited depending on the time of the day. Also, the service in the restaurant has improved throughout the years as the food comes out alot quicker. [caption id="attachment_3680" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="Restoran Hung Kee"][/caption] There are two shop lots side by side, one of which is air-conditioned. Depending on the...

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="403" caption="Amanda Brownie Kukus, Bandung "][/caption] Not too long ago, our friend Geraldine who’s studying in Indo came back and paid all of us a visit in KL. And she did not come empty handed. Brought with her all the way from Bandung, Indonesia were 6 boxes of steamed brownies from a shop called Amanda back there. We were soo happy. The brownies came a long way, across ocean, land and air. Thanks babe! [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="403" caption="Cheese flavoured steam brownie"][/caption] [caption...

FT: Ah Cheng Laksa, Damansara Cineleisure
By William at July 16, 2009 | 1:34 pm | 2 Comments
Edmund from Ah Cheng Laksa recently invited us to eat dinner at the Ah Cheng Laksa branch at e@Curve (formerly Cineleisure Mutiara Damansara) a while back to sample a few of his dishes. Myself, Steve and Sue Ann were there as well as fellow blogger, Timothy from 3 Meals of Goodness. It’s always nice to meet other people who have the same interest as us and admittedly, we’ve not done it enough… perhaps more in the future? But anyway, back to the food. Edmund let us sample a few noodles dishes, some soup and some rice dishes. First up, the herbal...
Hatyai Street – Thai Food at One Bangsar
By Steve at July 12, 2009 | 12:00 am | 2 Comments
I was quite pleased when I got the chance to try this interesting little restaurant which was recommended by a friend. Hatyai Street serves a variety of Thai food and is along a row of restaurants that could be associated with more pricely items on the menu, however, there are a few dishes that are averagely priced too. [caption id="attachment_3692" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="Hatyai Street"][/caption] The ambience is laid back and the Thai newspaper cuttings under the glass table-tops give you something to read (if you can read Thai) while you...
