By William at December 31, 2008 | 4:00 pm | 11 Comments
In an earlier post, we mentioned that we had taken part in the Penang Food Hunt 2008 and boy was it an experience. [caption id="attachment_1402" align="aligncenter" width="448" caption="I didn't realize how true this was going to be."][/caption] [caption id="attachment_1393" align="aligncenter" width="448" caption="I should have put 'super super busy food hunting'"][/caption] As first time treasure hunters (except Sue Ann), myself, Jason and Khe Shene didn’t really know what to expect. We were thinking, how hard could it be? I’ve done...
Pizza Flavoured Beer
By William at December 30, 2008 | 4:00 pm | 6 Comments
Yes you read the title correctly. Pizza flavoured beer. I didn't have time to put up a post on some of the things that Feedmelah.com has been up to, but I thought you'd find this story amusing. Officially called "Tom Seefurth's Mama Mia Pizza Beer," the brew is made with tomatoes, garlic, basil and oregano. It's kind of like beer-meets-marinara sauce or a Bloody Mary and a beer chaser mixed in one bottle. What's even funnier is the website the creators of the beer have come up with to market the product. It is so cheesy, like a cheap commercial for a 1980s...

By Steve at December 29, 2008 | 3:00 pm | 12 Comments
Continuing with our quest of getting to know our fellow food bloggers, we recently interviewed Jason of Ipoh Mali Talak Sombong! 1. Can you give us an introduction of yourself, when and how did you start out and what made you love food so much to start a blog about it? As you can read from title of my blog, I'm originally from Ipoh. I was exposed to the wide array of food available in Ipoh few years back after I got to know a bunch of friends who like to eat out, and my interest in food was ignited. That time, they frequently mention that we should document...

By Steve at December 28, 2008 | 10:08 am | 7 Comments
Sri Nyonya Restaurant has served delicious Penang Nyonya cuisine since 1986. Tucked away in a quiet part of Section 22 in Petaling Jaya, Sri Nyonya uses traditional family recipes which have been handed down over several generations. [caption id="attachment_1309" align="aligncenter" width="448" caption="Sri Nyonya"][/caption] Nasi Ulam is a signature dish of the Peranankans as well as the Malays. The rice is accompanied with a mix of vegetables and sambal. Each serve is approximately RM7.50. [caption id="attachment_1299" align="aligncenter" width="448"...
Pantai Seafood, Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara
By William at December 26, 2008 | 5:11 pm | 6 Comments
[caption id="attachment_1547" align="aligncenter" width="450" caption="It's close and convenient for those living in the Damansara area."][/caption] The other day I went with Sue Ann and our families to Pantai Seafood in Kampung Kayu Ara for a nice seafood dinner. If you've ever been to this place you kind of wonder how the owner ever decided to put his/her restaurant there in the first place. It's located in the middle of a kampung area and surrounded by those car chop shops (where you see alot of halved cars stacked up on shelves). I guess rent was...
Baking With Stan – Recipe: Cream Puffs
By William at December 23, 2008 | 5:20 pm | 11 Comments
We decided to have a recipe section on our site and who better to introduce us to the world of baking and cooking than our friend, Stan. Stan is currently pursuing his diploma in culinary arts at Taylor’s University College cooking up a storm. He has a passion for baking and has even transformed his whole house kitchen into a tiny industrial baking kitchen. ( So much so that his mum has complained that the industrial sized oven in his house is sucking up too much electricity). Recently, we managed to get a demo of his baking skills at his home. Today’s...
What is Christmas Dinner to You?
By William at December 22, 2008 | 4:00 pm | 13 Comments
All I can think of is roast turkey... [Picture - Flickr: Hoomant] Here at Feedmelah.com, we've been asking ourselves, what actually IS a Christmas dinner? What types of food do you usually serve to family and friends during Christmas parties? We know that in Malaysia, if you tell someone to come to a pot luck dinner, regardless of the ocassion, there will always be somebody who brings satay, KFC, pizza... but that's not Christmas food. So we ask everyone out there, what dishes do you consider suitable for a Christmas dinner? Here's some of what we came up...

Food On The Mind?
By William at December 19, 2008 | 3:30 pm | 2 Comments
Like I said in an earlier post, Malaysian's always seem to have food on the mind. But it's good to know that we're not alone. My friend Stan pointed this out to me yesterday while checking out football scores of some of the UEFA cup games that were played during the week. It looks like the Germans always think about food as well. Even while they're naming football teams! [caption id="attachment_1460" align="aligncenter" width="448" caption="Maybe there's a Hotdog FC as...
Roast Lamb, K.K.Kafeteria, Catering Service
By William at December 18, 2008 | 4:00 pm | 13 Comments
Planning on having a Christmas party or an open house this coming festive season? Well, why not treat your guests to some roast lamb, right from your backyard (or driveway). Not long ago, I held a party at my house for my grandma’s 80th birthday and we decided to have some roast lamb instead of the typical fried bee hoon, curry chicken and fried rice dinner. This is where Uncle Robert comes into the picture. He is with the 3K caterers and specializes in roasting lamb. Our party was to start at 630pm in the evening so he had to come in earlier to...
